New camera!

| Okay, I got my 1st medium format in the mail today from our friend Servo, and let me just say that the world is sooo much more beautiful looking through it's viewfinder. I'm not kidding. Everything just looks more....interesting through it. Maybe it's just me, I dunno. I've just been playing around with it and whatnot this afternoon, and trying to rig a way to hold the bulb in without shaking the camera too much. Rubber bands seem to work, but to avoid shake, I would have to cut the rubber bands...So I'm open to suggestions from anyone who has any clever ideas. Oh yeah, it's a Yashica-Mat, I dunno the model or anything, it just says Yashica-Mat and "LM" on it. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to go shoot it some time.

Awesome! Can't wait to see some new stuff from it. I had a 35mm Yashica but it kinda fell apart. (pawn shop camera) I doubt it would be much better but you could try using a C Clamp or something. http://www-ece.ric...figs/c_clamp_2.jpg

Welcome to my world. Now you can understand better why I like to carry my RB67 with me into places even though it's really unwieldy. To see things framed in the viewfinder is nothing short of amazing.
As far as keeping the shutter pressed in, it doesn't look like that camera has a standard cable release. Very sad. I'm not sure an elegant solution is around. Presumably any solution will resemble a Homer Simpson creation. Good luck!

Yeah, the one time I used it for long exposures, my solution was tape and the "hat trick" (covering up the lens, taping down the shutter button, removing the cover over the lens, time the exposure, put the cover back, untape the button).

Problem solved....There is a threaded thingy around the trigger that can be undone and then I bought this adapter thingy that you thread onto the threads and then you can thread your cable release into that thingy. It works great...so well that words fail me, it seems.
