Welcome to the largest independent ore sampler between Missouri and California. The Utah Ore Sampling Company built this plant in 1909 where non-consolidated mining companies could come and test the quality of their ore.

The ore would be crushed and analyzed and smelters would decide whether or not they wanted to continue investing in their mining operation based on the quality of the ore. The old structure where tons of frozen ore was held to defrost is still standing.

You can learn more about the Utah Ore Sampling Company as a whole or this specific plant here: https://utahrails....h-ore-sampling.php

Once you enter the lot it's immediately apparent that this structure is bigger than you think.

The size of the structure is sprawling and there's much to see on the first floor.

The tallest tower goes up four stories (far taller than your average floor height) and features many holes that drop down to the bottom, so watch your step!

The largest roof on the lot is accessible, and fun to walk around on. Definitely make sure you don't step on any soft spots!

If you can find your way to the very bottom basement area you'll be treated with some small tunnel-like hallways and some flooded areas even farther below.

There's a lot to see here and it's very easy to access. I highly recommend exploring for yourself since I didn't post every secret here!

This is my first post so feel free to critique me I'm eager to learn!

If you're not vibing you're doing it wrong.
