Have you guys had any urbex related dreams? Recently I had a dream I was draining and a monster came out of the water and snatched me. Pretty gnarly.

oh my god all the time. any dream I usually remember having recently is urbex related. I've been to abandoned prisons, factories, schools, even some of the buildings I've been in IRL have been featured in my dreams. My favorite dreams.

I woke up this morning from a UE dream and immediately thought of this post.

My UE dreams often start with a fairly low-key infiltration, which results in finding one room where I can sit with a few other close friends. Often we discover there is electricity available.

In the dream this morning, it unravelled similarly. I believe there wasn't anything to drink, so I wandered off looking.

The whole time, the site, the spaces within it, the number of people all started increasing.

I found a kitchen area, and out the back window I witnessed a car moving to park. I watched silently as I assessed the threat, and as soon as it was clear this was people who were coming in, I moved back to warn everyone and try to evacuate them. It was a dream, so it didn't work.

Soon I was introduced to the property owners who were arriving by car, who were heirs who were not much younger than me, but were pissed about finding all these people in their property.

Around then a snake demon cropped up in the first room where we'd been gathered and started eating people. At that point, the heirs' concerns became no more important than everyone else's, as the snake ate through them all.

Around then I woke up.

Constantly!!

I have a place I return to often in my dreams.. some kind of city outskirts where there are the most massive, intricate, beautiful storm drains. I've seen such cool ancient storm systems there. Sometimes the drains have led me to abandonments which I, of course, subsequently explore. Other times I've found abandoned places in my dreams independently of these drain systems and have explored them. Always really cool stuff!

Yeah, often in stressful situations though. Had an interesting time where hiding from police was part of the narrative, while having to avoid rotten floors in a massive old warehouse. Passage of time in dreams speeds up the stakeout process considerably. Other times after I've been walking along metal grating IRL for a bit I'll have dreams navigating steel mazes where elevated walkways snake off in every direction, upwards & downwards. Falling down in these mazes is pretty freaky experience. Craziest UE dream so far had been navigating an immense dark industrial facility. The decay & moisture of rot was vivid, but the wild part was when viscous black ooze started pouring out of vents and chutes and flooding the place. I'm glad I woke up before I was consumed.

I've had a few nightmares of getting arrested/killed while exploring, but that's about it.

They're rare for me, but whenever I have them, I wake up with this insatiable desire to get up and explore. They always happen around summer for me.

Usually when I have a UE dream, I feel the need to take pictures of everything so I will have the pictures when I wake up.

The latest dream was about this ridiculous party though. But at one point during it, I remembered a real-life thing I wanted to explore and will probably make plans to go there based on the dream reminding me.

I think the only urbex dream that I've remembered was actually a nightmare. I was exploring an abandoned factory. I was up on the roof and it collapsed, taking me with it. I remember falling three stories to the ground with bricks falling on top of me. But I'm also pretty sure I got out of it scot free and kept exploring. I'm pretty sure the comes from a time where I was climbing off a roof and the brick I was holding onto gave way, causing me to fall onto my back, luckily without injury.

All the time, and it gives me the itch to get out because I haven't explored much over the past five years.

The other night I was dreaming about some kind of institutional building, my cat woke me up and then I fell back asleep and the dream continued. I've never had that happen before.

I had a dream that I suddenly owned a small abandoned house with no safety (no windows, doors etc) and I was trying to sleep at night. But I was concerned that the mattress would be full of fleas and that homeless people may come during the night.

I have so many exploring dreams, and they always leave me longing for some great adventure. ..dreams of exploring some deep underground silos, or a huge abandoned school complex, or a hospital or large factory. I wish I could explore a place even half as cool as the ones in my dreams!

A while ago I dreamt I was draining with some pals and came across a huge room. It was pretty nice bc I was also able to scale walls like some fckin action hero, so I was able to get up on some catwalks and look around
