Hi all, I am in some sense new to the hobby (my previous escapades in the home country were very easy mode). I like industrial machinery and factories. They produce (or, as it may be, once produced) real, tangible products, and there's a lot of romantic appeal in that for someone whose day job is self-referential number shuffling. Unfortunately, I don't like taking photos. I rarely do it and lack the equipment, skill, and motivation to create something that might awe you, or even earn a passing grade. Nonetheless, I made an effort to take some during my recent trip, just to have something to post here. I went to a certain abandoned soap factory. The idea, for lack of time to track down a new spot, is shamelessly stolen from NNVVK, who posted about it last year. I tried not to have much overlap: I mostly took pictures inside the main building, which is admittedly more boring. It is being hollowed out: there are heaters running inside, fairly fresh paint and installations, and I heard voices inside (though I steered clear of them, so who's to say they weren't fellow explorers). The album is here: https://imgur.com/a/yQeaojB.

Yep, sorry, the markup engine didn't interpret "text: https://..." correctly. I fixed it in the main post.

Good shit! That is a nice facility! Very clean. I wouldn't be surprised if those voices you heard were workers, that cleared out space looks like they've been getting ready to do something with it. Very Beautiful.

it's soon going to be demolished to make room for the east harbour development along with the go and Ontario line station of the same name
