Is there a reason this sucks? Or am I missing something?

Sorry for the harsh title but I'm a bit confused... I thought that memberships included access to use and edit the database map of locations, and when I think I've found it, It only contains like five places in my region, most of which are not definite locations. I don't see a way to add locations either, to try to improve it. This website is really hard to navigate (probably because I'm one of the more young people on here)but I at least thought the "database" would be useful. Or am I not accessing it correctly? Let me know.

Thanks in advance

You're a basic member, not a full member. Full members would be able to see more locations that aren't deemed publically viewable yet. But the database hasn't been a big priority of the users of this site for several years, so it lacks a lot of things.

Oh got it. Can full members add to the database easily?
Thanks.

As Steed replied, most locations that are publicly available are usually pretty torn up locations, or locations that aren't too much of a risk to go to. Becoming a full member grants access to certain more privileged, riskier, and more clean locations, however due to abuses of the trust system (users leaking locations to public blogs or sharing outside of the forum) not a lot of people feel nearly as comfortable adding new locations to the database as they used to. There are still some good ones, but the vast majority of locations were added or maintained in the early 2010's. As always the best way to find locations is to do your own research, as tedious as it may be, the best stuff will never be posted anywhere, private database or not. Be the first person there, pioneer it, its what makes this hobby so exciting. Once you are a full member though, adding to the database is very easy. This site is definitely past its prime, but it doesn't have to stay that way, be the change you wanna see.

Thanks for the great explanation

Also, part of the reason it seems so difficult to navigate to modern audiences is because this website was built in the late 90s. The internet was a vastly different place then. Forums were king, mobile pages hadn't been invented yet, and the tools available to devs were far less sophisticated than the ones available today. This website hasn't been updated since that time period, as the admin has mostly retired from exploring and rarely actively participates in the community anymore. There simply is no interest on his end in renovating the site, and no shiny modern competitor could ever have the name recognition UER enjoys.

The other part of the reason it's so difficult to navigate is because it's Christmas season. This website always gets comedically ridiculous this time of year with the holiday décor. It'll return to normal by New Years.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

Yes, right when i thought it couldn't get any more confusing, the christmas decorations started appearing haha.
are there any other platforms you recommend using for this where people are more active? Other than reddit

There are a few other sites but unfortunately Instagram is probably the most active. Maybe make an exploring page if you don't have one and just start posting stuff and follow some people, you'll quickly find the exploring "community"
