Since you bring it up, the start of WWII is a lot more fluid than the West sees it. Japan was getting violently aggressive as of 1932, and by 1937 it was undeniably at war.
And China and North Korea are certainly getting extra aggressive these days, with China buzzing Taiwan as much as possible and North Korea launching projectiles at a record pace, not to mention outspokenly supporting Russia, even recognising the captured parts of Ukraine as new countries. Things are not looking good over here these days.

I know I'm late to this thread... However, I think this strikes fear in everyone. Urbex in the zone, and that entire area of those nations will never be the same again. It really is unfortunate that some of us will never be able to enjoy those places.

Without being too nosey, are you Korean? I seem to get the feeling that you're originally from elsewhere. Are you planning on staying there for good or would you consider leaving if things got worse?

I'm not remotely Korean, although I was once described in a police report as looking Asian somehow. I'm a white dude from Canada who, just to make this tangent remotely relevant again, is half-Ukrainian and grew up surrounded by Ukrainian relatives.

this dirty bomb talk and him launching rockets into populated areas is having the reverse effect... it's pissing Ukrainians off, not terrifying them. On top of his troop issues... did you see the report that the russian army was sending these poor schmucks into combat without any equipment? None. Their families are having to buy it for them and its coming at a premium due to scarcity. On top of that, the weapons, if they manage to be issued any, are old and rusty as fuck.

Oh, wow, I had an internal image of you based off of you living in Seoul that assumed you were Korean. I’m going to have to come up with a new totally inaccurate representation now. What part of Canada are you from? How long ago did you leave Canada? I’ve been to Canada and have off and on thought about a residency there since my early 20’s. I’ve never actually tried to achieve that beyond looking into it online, however.
I just realized how off-topic I am so let me conclude with this: Breaking news: Russians have made it official; they are withdrawing from the northern Kherson region. Putin is still a piece of shit, and this hasn’t changed since the beginning of the war. Winter is coming and will suck for everyone. Russia needs to go home and we could all live happily ever after (if you can block out all thoughts about China or Taiwan). There, now this is a (kind of) relevant post.
Currently living 220 kilometers (132 miles) away from Russia, some Ukrainian citizens now are living in the next building. Every day since last February starts and ends,reading Twitter (Euromaidan press, UA government official information, theguardian.com etc), also checking flightradar.com - British Royal Air Force / NATO jets are watching the skies - it feels better if they are above/near Baltic sea, Poland etc. , it calms my nerves a bit, honestly speaking. This Friday, finally, western-Europe realized they also need to send military aid to Ukraine in larger amounts. As a citizen of EU member state,it really feels EU states aren't that united, unfortunately... its not clear why do exactly leaders from Germany and France were so unreliable (corruption?cowardice?) before...
Had no illusions about the war. As a Latvian, i clearly remember one day in August, 2008 when Russia attacked Georgia. Me and my friends (fellow explorers, also) gathered in a cold-war era bunker. We were talking about the possibility of a new World War III... That feeling somewhere in the guts preserved until February 2022.
Both trips to Iraq were a farce and the second one was a windfall for White House cronies.

Good. May all their secrets be revealed. Note the typical media spin: Russian body counts are are "believed to be much higher" than the numbers in the documents, with zero evidence provided. In other words, they believe their own propaganda that Ukraine is winning. The cope when this becomes another "L" for the Empire (of Lies) is gonna be epic.
