I fear the time is approaching I'll need to replace the tires on my car, bare minimum one of them...damn thing won't hold air for longer than a week or two before the check tire pressure light is on. It's been pulling toward the direction of that tire for a good long while now, while I limp it to the station to re-fill the air. I'm fucking *dreading* getting new tires. Even getting a used one to get me through until the other 3 start fucking up makes my asshole pucker. My financial situation isn't the best at the moment, so $500+ isn't laying around for it.

don't put it off! i went shopping for tires for my mom's car (2015 Chevy Trax AWD) and i couldn't find tires for it from more than a couple of third parties. Ended up going through the Chevy dealer for hers and my tires (We put Goodyear Assurances on her Trax and Nokia One's on my Sonic).\ there have been warning about tires getting scarce due to the fracas at the west coast ports. anyways, best of luck.

Fuck, that didn't even cross my mind. Thanks for the heads up! I'll get to looking at local places today.

I had to buy new tires for the first time in like, over 10 years last year. My wagons always made do with slightly used tires. I think it was $1500 all in for four tires + mounting. I didn't buy cheap tires though (I went with KO2s hoping to run them year round). But the cost still made me sad. I have been happy with them thus far though, and they made it through a Northern Ontario winter! Still want to get a set of blizzaks for the winter...but $$$. (Also, HI WB!!! )

Where I work now, the shop side is like of top selling Nokian dealers in the NW. They seem to the best bang for the buck for a name-brand tire; and they sure do stand by their product. When we had to deal with some weird warranty situations, our rep tells us "Just replace it and we will pay for it, then send us the old tire for R&D purposes". Nokian makes most of its tires for North America in Dayton, TN. Weird place for a Finnish company...

i used to live in Dayton TN (well, Evensville, but it's all Rhea County). When I lived there in 2000, it was one of the fastest growing counties in Tennessee. And then the county board decided to try and make being gay illegal... yeah, none of them were re-elected. There were a bunch of manufacturers there even back then. Close proximity to US 27, I-75, and a Norfolk-Southern rail line, i guess helps.
