This is a local site to me, and one I had a torrid frustrating history with. It closed in 2011 and I was very quick off the mark to investigate it initially, but being so soon after closure it was very well looked after. I tried again and again whenever I was able to and was always left frustrated, as getting on site was easy but it was never, ever open. What was even more frustrating was I saw the place getting more decayed, more windows getting smashed, but you'd be able to enter one room through a broken window and then find the door into the corridor screwed tightly shut. I never thought I would get into it, and had all but given up hope as one of those places which just gets away from you, but a chance conversation with my friend who had encountered some local youths at another abandoned spot made me get my arse in gear. They were being escorted off site by security, and my friend, who was outside the site taking photos of his car, got chatting to them. One of the young people then casually dropped the bomb into the conversation of 'yeah we went there the other day and kicked the door open'. Needless to say he got on messenger immediately and we quickly put together a trip to see the place. On initial entry I was underwhelmed. Empty kicked to crap rooms showing both a decades worth of decay and occasional idiot ingress. But the further I pushed on the more interesting it became, and there was more than enough inside to satisfy the itch I had spent a decade waiting to scratch. 1

Great determination! I forget about most places just after trips fall through, even if they still exist. Looks like that wait gave you some nice decay too. Thanks for sharing.

this 10 year waiting list seems to be worth it!

Awesome as always, and great that you were able to catch one of your white whales. Love the shadows in #4 and #6. Those are some odd piles of debris in #7 and #17 with no obvious source, really weird to see things like that without a collapsed ceiling above them.

Very cool! Glad you were able to get in! Really like 9, 13, and 20.

I know this 10yr itch all too well. It's ironic that the reckless youth we curse for senseless vandalism, we also often rely on to gain entry. I have one place in particular I've been checking on for almost 20yrs. Some day...... In your case, at least they left the place without painting their infamous dicks all over it. #13 for the win - great set, as always - been following your stuff for years!
