Unique house! I like 1&2. Any idea of when it was abandoned?

The land was either purchased or donated to become a park. The interesting part is that they already paved a drive, parking lot, play ground, and a splash pad. I don't understand why that would come before demo. But I did confirm from GIS data that the local township owns the land, and the park area and house both fall on to the same plat of land. GIS also said when the property changed hands, taxes were current and the mortgage was paid, but based on those dates and the condition of the home it was probably vacant for some time. The previous owner also owns neighboring farm field, so I am guessing donation to the town to avoid hassle of demo/remediation (plaster probably has asbestos). Perhaps there is some historical value (although nothing to note of the previous owner), and they have plans to preserve, but I couldn't find anything - at least nothing posted online. Also interesting, there is literally nothing keeping people from entering the house, aside from a single "KEEP OUT" sign planted in the grass in front of it. Doesn't seem like a great plan for preservation as the sign surely won't keep the dick painting, plaster smashing, flame wielding local youth out....
