This year didn’t start so good. First came news about death of Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom & Bodom After Midnight) and just few days later my Canon EOS 6D – which were so far my most expensive and most weather proofed camera – did broke. But two days later I did downgrade – I did bought used Canon EOS 5D Mark II to get rid of my withdrawal symptoms.

Anyway, this was my this year’s first UE-trip and last with that 6D. As you can see, we did get winter.

On the Stones:

Birch and House That Once Were Home:

Ending Alone:

Oh Trees, Come In, Come In:

Then Came the Coldness:

Cold Days of Ending:

Weighted Down with Cold Sorrow:

From there I did carry my way elsewhere… where lonely house still stands on the hill behind the cemetery.

This Dead Cold, Beautiful World:

Lonely Days in Coldness:

Lost into Oblivion:

That Cold Dance of Death (When Snow Descent's on the Pillow):

-----

And then to today’s traditional off-topic-bonus-out-of-subject-shitty-shot. National park of Torronsuo is just 10 minutes drive away from my home. I’d use to love it, but then came Covid and people did go crazy and after that it have been sooo overpopulated all the time that I haven’t get there at all in last 1,5 years.

But then came snowstorm. Just –1 Celsius but with 12-18 m/s wind were... quite extreme, especially at open marsh where I did spent 1 hour photographing just this view. But I was right: you just have to choose weather right – I was only one there at that day!

So here we go again. Happy weekend (and this year too) for everyone!

Beautiful COLD and LONELY photos! The first shot is just excellent. Like your B&W Lonely Days in coldness also. Wishes for a warm fire and a warm drink from me to you!

As much as I hate it.. the snow really adds to the exterior shots. Great photos!

Thank you so very much! Not fire but warm anyway, and cold beer and soon burning like absinthe so... everything is fine here.

Many people in Finland always complain how boring place this is. I think completely opposite: 4 totally different seasons, 4 reason to go everywhere again! And snow and coldness... pain for my always frozen hands, but still so different and beautiful. Makes everything so different. But after this drunken blaa blaa blaa, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

So it is. I'm sooo much waiting for next spring - I really must try to catch now that fresh first green there. Thank you very, very much.
