A good friend of mine was doing a photography project and took me along with him to a cement factory. I'm rocking a Panasonic DMC-FH24 that I took the IR filter out of as an experiment. Is it worth taking cheapo cameras into an area where you might damage equipment either getting there or while climbing things? 1.

I really like 3, 4, and 5. Not a fan of the framing in 1 and 2. I feel like in number one there's too much empty space on the ground, and it takes up too much of the frame. All of them, 1 and 2 especially, would be improved if they were leveled off. In that regard though, 4 is fine, and 3 and 5 are only slightly off.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try using the camera's framing guide more. I don't really have an eye for these things yet so I'll work on not leaving so much empty space in my shots. I suspect that my tripod mount wasn't entirely on right, might have cross-threaded it. I'll slap a bubble level on my camera so I'll notice if it's off next time.

I agree with DescentOnARope and would add that in #2 I would've stepped further to the right to take the shot, personally. It feels imbalanced with the off-center view of the open window. I really love #4 here though, and I wanna give you special props on that one - it looks like a scene from a shitty old black and white cult B-movie, like a cardboard UFO should come teetering across the sky.

I concur with what's already been said and also would like to say that #3 and #4 are my favorites by far. The smokestack in #3 looks so eerie and I love the contrast between the grass and sky in #4.
"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there. |
