Finally, some answers. A summary of discoveries.

Where to begin. Life has changed drastically since I last added a journal entry, needless to say I won’t be chasing tunnels like I once did. I wanted to provide these copy/pasted comments on a post shared to Freddy Beach and Area Chatterbox on Facebook.

Comments publicly shared by Scott Millican (thanks Scott, anyone reading this sincerely appreciates it!)

“[tagged name removed] from Centennial up to UNB, mostly for heating as the UNB heating plant heated the building, then from there over to the Playhouse and off if that to the Legislature, and over to the Beaverbrook hotel

Those 2 are cut off now with the new building. The other should still be there.

You could technically go all the way to DECH via tunnel if you wanted

Think it goes to the old jail on Brunswick as well

Tunnels have been there longer than the heating pipe from UNB. It was rumored that Hatfield used the tunnels to go from the Legislature to the Beaverbrook without having to be seen....possible to his office in the Centennial building as well”

“ Trevor Thompson yeah, UNB is full of tunnels. Pretty much one tunnel from downtown to UNB, then lots of trunks split off of the main line to different buildings.

Pretty much used for supplying heat to the buildings on campus, but the tunnels were there long before the current heating plant was there.

When they built DECH, they ran a line from the heating plant over behind RPC, and a new trunk line that connected to UNB and DECH.

And that's why that strip of land behind RPC and DOT is almost always bare in the winter, as the tunnel houses the main heating line.

RPC might be heated off of the plant as well, would make sense”

To my fellow adventurers, and the next generation of explorers, all the best! I may write again and I may not. I try to sign in from time to time, but sometimes years go by between logins. Keep up the search for an entrance!
