This was the last stop on a recent day of working/exploring, a knackering 18 hour day where we somehow managed to fit in four explores as well. The house was lived in by a couple who had a business buying and selling barometers, which I can only imagine is a very specialised subject for work. The house only very recently became derelict, I assume through the death of the last inhabitant and is now in limbo awaiting sale/inheritance etc. Despite the unusual occupation of the owners, and a workshop out back, there was almost no evidence of their work inside the house. You wouldn't even realise that was what the deal was if the google pin marking their business at the house was removed. I find it quite weird exploring these recently vacated houses (in this case 2017) because they have a totally different feel to the ones which have been empty a longer time. If I'm honest the only reason I bothered to track this one down was because of the fantastically decayed master bedroom, where a ceiling collapse above the bed has created a soggy mouldy green mess over it and around half of the room. The rest of the house was interesting, with quite a few things left to look at, but not decayed nearly enough for my liking. Otherwise I tend to try and avoid these recently abandoned houses, because in the UK they usually end up embodying everything that is terrible about the exploring 'community', with all the idiots and moronic 'social media explorers' from Facebook and Youtube flocking to them, splashing them over every medium they can think of and then swiftly getting them totally fucked over. 1
