So I had the chance to FINALLY get a trip outside of Illinois and visit some states. The one I was mainly interested in was Cleveland Ohio. There was a strange overgrown draw bridge with a railroad on it that was erected upwards. It looks like it wasn't used for years and had grown rust all over it. Does anyone have any idea what this is? 1.

This next set is from an observatory that I was able to check out. It's extremely popular but has since been victim to too much vandalism and taggers. 1.

Its a bascule bridge, fairly common. I've seen them all over the northeast and great lakes regions. They use concrete counterweights to raise up, and when they're not in service or sometimes when there are no trains approaching they're left upright.

ah thank you. Could the overgrowth and big amount of rust mean that it's abandoned? The side it would have lowered down into was in pretty bad shape too.
