Dark Tubs

This shot was taken during an explore of an abandoned insane asylum hospital. This room was filled with 5 hydrotherapy tubs and was pretty creepy to say the least. I personally really like this shot as it portrays a very moody vibe and really speaks to how the explore of this place felt for me. Appreciate the feed back!

-Thanks

It's pretty dark.

And, out of focus?

Sorry it has some quality loss due to down sizing so that's why it might seem like that. I agree it is dark, but the contrast of the dark and the light is what I was going for to really experience how the explore was. Thanks for the input!

I see what you're going for, but it would look better if more of the tubs were visible. Colors look nice though.

Thanks for the response! I agree, I probably should have shot my friend further back in the room so you could see all 5 of them. It was a pretty tight space where the tubs were so i didn't think about it so I just shot it as I saw it.
Thanks!

Seems like the head is kinda floating in the middle of nowhere, but otherwise I like the shot. When it's dark I usually focus on trying to see everything (ie, long exposures), so maybe next time I'm out fucking around at night I'll try to use the darkness to focus attention as you've done here. Is that moonlight/artificial light coming in, or did you cast those shadows yourself? Either way I think it's a neat tactic.

I agree, I did some shadow recovery on my friend, let me know if this looks better and also if it looks natural as well. The artificial light is my friend pointing a flashlight towards the tubs. Thanks for the advice and compliments!

I think having your friend just floating up there is a little distracting. All the black around the edges doesn't contribute much, so I think if you cropped in a lot closer to the tubs it would make the whole image stronger. Keep it up!

You always find something if you look, it's just not always quite what you were looking for

Yeah I agree it's too dark on one side of the image. Here is a crop of the first. Thanks!

its like a good prelude shot of what is to come...pretty cool

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.
