the transmisskerator in the 79 Thunderbird kind of ate itself last weekend and my brother is kind of in a funk over replacing it. Anyone know where there is a fairly low mileage Ford C6 that will bolt to a late 60's Ford 429? and relatively close to New York State... hardy har har.

i think the mounting points on an F-series are wrong for a car...

I think that uses the 460 bell housing pattern, so you should be able to pull it out of the F-series and the B-series of the same era oddly.

IIRC, the C6 mount is on the tailhousing, you could swap the tailhousing to get the right mount?

i guess they are going to buy a new one sourced from TCI or Hughes.

as a conclusion to this thread, my brother indeed did order a TCI C6 streetfighter trans and converter for the old thunderbird. It should be here next week. so there's that.
