Most disgusting thing you ever ran into

Hey guys, I know that this is probably a thread that was once around but since I didn't think I saw any in the recent past, I though just to start a new one:
What is the most disgusting thing you ever saw/smelled/stepped in

I haven't been around too long or been to a ton of sites, but I got into this one building at this old research lab and as I took my first step in, I felt the crunch of something under my boot. I saw 3 skeletal remains of ducklings underneath my feet. Both super sad and flat out disgusting if you ask me.

The scrapper lurking in Penhurst. That was terrifying. And disgusting. It was similar to running into a cave dwelling creature not to unlike Gollum.

Dead rat in a steam tunnel. The smell was real bad.

I'm usually chill w dead stuff in places, but the heat and humidity made things awful.

Makeshift sex pillow. Someone put a pair of panties on a couch pillow and tore a hole right where the crotch was. Worst smelling thing would be between a rotting raccoon in a cave, and a heavily polluted superfund site that had a very metallic tinge to it.

Many years ago in Colorado (late 1980s) I was looking photo angle to take pictures of trains on a truss bridge. I climbed over the guard rail and started down the bank, but the ground felt strange. I looked down and realized that I was standing in the middle of a sea of dead dogs.

Literally THOUSANDS of dead dogs dumped over the guard rail on a rural road. Every breed of dog you could imagine. Some were fresh and others were very decomposed or somewhere in between. Obviously someone had been dumping dead dogs there for a very long time.

My guess was that the dog pound was destroying their excess inventory and rather than spending money to cremate them, they drove out to a desolate road and dumped them over the guard rail.

A really old box of microwaveable pasta. I didn't throw up, but it did make me wish I were dead to begin with.

I was exploring an old rehab facility not long ago, and found a huge pile of horseshit all over the floor in one area...and it looked relatively fresh. *Well, I'm pretty sure it came from a horse anyway*
Pretty nasty, at least I had my mask on so I didn't smell it, and was fortunate not to step in it. It was mostly confusing; how did a horse get in...and if there wasn't one there...who brought it there, and why?!😲
Several months ago I was preparing to explore a funeral home, but upon approaching the busted out windows (and seeing the sinking floor) I was assaulted by a smell of such chemical and biological stink-rot, I just went back to my car.
Don't know how the truckers parked in the lot could stand being near a smell like that...I have a rather high tolerance for the horrors we see while exploring (and a decent mask), but some things you can't unsee (or unsmell)!

One that stands out (that my memory hasn't repressed yet) is seeing a balloon-bloated raccoon body on a toxic canal with oil rainbows on the surface.

That is absolutely horrible.

Most disgusting things I've ever run into? A pile of dead sheep in a rural chapel in Wales, the squatter inside an abandoned hospital boiler house who had left human shit all over the floor, and the mouldy fetid outline of a dead human body at the bottom of some stairs in an abandoned house, luckily the body wasn't there but it had lain there undiscovered for months after death and all the bodily fluids and decomposition had soaked into the carpet.

Oh and the smell inside the abandoned cheese factory I explored last year in upstate New York, literally the worst thing I have ever smelled, ever.

I probably should have reported this, but didn't.

Maybe someone in Colorado also knows about this and if it was ever found out about or is possibly still happening.

This is roughly where this happened and you can see the truss bridge in the background that I had mentioned. The guard rail appears to be gone and roadside area appears to have been filled in.

I've encountered that also.

There was a guy in Des Moines that left his entire estate to a museum in NY. It happened that the president of that museum is a friend of mine and I helped with the cleaning out of the house.

The body was removed long before I came into the picture, but the stain and smell from the body laying on the living room floor was still present when I was there.

Ugh, of all the things in this thread, this was the worst for me to read. Like, just the thought of suddenly realizing you're standing in a pile of dogs in various states of decomposed is so awful

Were you wearing a mask and that's why you couldn't smell it? I can only imagine that the stench would have gotten to your nose before you ever took a step on.
