Mother nature wants her planet back...we humans are the worst species on this earth and we're killing it.

There is so much contradictory information in the UK media now depending what you read or who you hear it from which isn't helping. Different experts saying that things aren't improving or they are improving, or that infection rates are increasing or staying the same, etc etc. However there may be a light at the end of the tunnel as one group advising the government has suggested an exit strategy which could, if things improve to a decent extent over the next month, allow the lockdown and restrictions to be slowly eased from around May 18th - first allowing small businesses (fewer than 50 employees) to reopen - and presumably the general population to see their families etc - then schools reopening a week later, and then finally at the start of June allowing restaurants and other businesses to reopen. I'm presuming the second and third stages of that are dependant upon there not being a large spike in cases after the previous stage. I can see there being a blanket ban on mass gatherings for the foreseeable future though. And then you have Scotland which seems to think they'll have to stay in a lockdown state until September with no chance of things being lifted before then. Hospitals and ICU units in London, the worst affected part of the UK, are busy but they are not full, thanks to the extra capacity provided by the temporary hospital set up at the Excel Centre.

Ex-CEO of Radio Shack is now a Canadian ER physician. Kudos to this guy. https://nationalpo...-of-covid-19-fight What day of the week is it again?
It's great to be alive! |

First of all, good for him. Secondly, going from the CEO of a huge chain store that got left in the dust by technological change to having a more humble job, ouch. It sounds like a spinoff of Schitt's Creek. I wonder if Brian Levy is related to Eugene Levy.

Korea has had three days in a row of less than 50 new cases, with the latest update down to 27. It's also the first day in a long time in which none of the cases are in Daegu where the crazy cult caused the first cluster outbreak. Everyone's trying not to jinx it. All it takes is one superspreader, and Easter's coming soon. I saw a message just a few hours ago that a foreigner bar on the other side of the mountain I live on had a case, so we'll see if that leads to another mass infection, which would be especially bad if it's among the foreign community.

I’ve been logged off and tuned out for the past 5 days. What’s been going on with the nationwide numbers?

In Iowa, a late comer to the case race was Cedar Rapids (Linn County) and now they're beating out the state's largest city and most populous county. Cedar Rapids has a basically dead, downtown. Although they do have an alternative attraction.

All should keep in mind, that spreading misinformation is equally as bad as spreading Covid people. Please be discerning in what you are sharing with others. And if you don't know how to be. Please don't share it.

It causes neurological symptoms such as impaired consciousness and (on the extreme end) seizures too? Well, this just keeps getting worse and worse.

Continuing to report from the front lines. The city is a ghost town every day after midnight, which I'm used to in small cities but feels weird here. On the bright side, fewer people means more freedom - saw some dudes riding their bikes across a bridge car path tonight, not giving a single fuck. Been out getting nice photos too. Pics to come later.
