IF this model is accurate...numbers are falling for now in 26 states and DC.
TL;DR cases are still going up in TX, AZ, IL, CO, OH, MN, IN, IA, AL, WI, MS, TN, FL, VA, NM, MO, DE, SC, MA, NC, CA, PA, LA and MD. Pleasantly surprised to see NY and KY missing from that list.
I'd say something about cases going up after a holiday weekend, but I don't know if that was the case at Easter in most places or not. Not really sure what to expect.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

For some reason over the weekend I had two dreams about sneezing loudly and covering a lot of people. In one of them I was at a school assembly and sneezed upwards.

Rehashing an old accusation given there's new news:

Explorer Zero
This does not surprise me coming from the same people that torture dogs to make their meat tender before eating them. Well as long as we are sharing links:

https://fightdogme...-dogs-tongue-eyes/

The LA Times published a new investigation today. The messenger (Marc Ching) is a bit problematic, to say the least.

https://www.latime...arc-ching-dog-meat

One part of it is that before he became a pet-whisperer and Hollywood darling, Ching was actually a felon who served almost a decade out of an 11-year sentence for a violent kidnapping-for-profit, and causing great bodily harm. He's also currently under scrutiny by the FTC for selling COVID-19/cancer snake oil.

In terms of his claim-to-fame, the overall gist of the investigation is that there is a good chance (given the testimonials and circumstantial video evidence) that he paid the slaughterhouses and butchers to kill the animals on video in extraordinarily grisly ways. The consensus between animal rights activists working in Asia is that the butchery is uniformly inhumane, but rarely as sadistic as those he captured for the simple fact that they are impractical and pose unnecessary risks to the butchers' safety.

The situation indeed sucks for livestock animals (definitions of such obviously differ between societies) in Asia... but you've all been had by a fame-seeking sadist.

Atlanta has had mixed success social distancing and staying indoors. Midtown is awful, bars are open and packed, the beltline is more crowded than ever, and every republican in the boonies feels the need to go the extra mile to not wear a mask. I went downtown to about two weeks ago to take pictures of some of the buildings without people around (Downtown Atlanta is primarily highrise office buildings. Midtown Atlanta has the highrise residential buildings). Downtown was a ghost town like I hoped except for one spot. In true Atlanta fashion, the only people out were lined up for wings.

In Atlanta, THE WINGS MUST FLOW, even during a pandemic.

The UK will be easing it's way out of lockdown from Monday, the first cautious steps are being taken to see what will happen. People will be allowed to meet outside in groups of up to six people making sure they observe social distancing guidelines, schools will be opened up for reception/year 1 and year 6 classes at first and provided that goes well over the next month or so more years will be allowed to return with a mix of in class and at home schooling. Outdoor markets and car dealerships which can easily put in place and practice social distancing will be allowed to open as long as they've met the requirements, and on June 15th all businesses deemed 'non-essential' will be allowed to open provided they too have put in place systems and procedures to keep social distancing. Pubs and restaurants are a long way off opening though even though many of those have taken the time they've been closed to optimise their systems for an eventual reopening.

We finally had lockdown restrictions eased here in Dallas, for a few days at least. Effective tonight, we begin a 7pm curfew due to riots. I went out last night to photograph the protests and riots. It's not like anything I've ever seen before.

I'll share a photo or two once I get them uploaded.

Same in Iowa, to a degree.

Apparently the special powers afforded to government because of COVID-19 are being used to put the whammy on George Floyd demonstrations.

Polk County which includes Des Moines is under curfew 9pm tonight to 5am Monday.

Tear gas cannisters were flying in Des Moines last night.

The protesters in front of police headquarters took a knee and so did the cops.

The crowd dispersed at 9pm.

Elsewhere in Des Moines, the curfew is getting The Hawaiian Good Luck Sign.

Maybe it's worth starting a different thread for all the protests, and keeping this one about COVID-19.

Getting back to the pandemic, we had 35 new cases yesterday, with 33 being domestic and 2 at the airport. Apparently 18 were connected to one pastor who visited 10 churches while infectious. I'm glad I spend my Sundays in abandonments.
