This former school has sat vacant in the center of a small rural town since the early 90s. The townspeople very much dislike it's presence, as the property owner does little to nothing to maintain it. I have been here a total of 3 times, most of these shots are from my second visit a few years ago. When we arrived we were surprised to find nearly every window open and every door propped open with bricks or cinder blocks. We assumed perhaps this had been done by scrappers. But then during our explore we saw two locals enter the building through one of the open windows. After their initial shock of seeing two guys with cameras inside they informed us that a fire had been started in the school just the night before! The fire had been started on the stage area and was quickly extinguished by the local fire department. The arsonist, a known town troublemaker, was arrested a day or so later and is currently serving jail time for the arson and other charges. I returned over 6 months later in the middle of winter and to my surprise absolutely no measures had been taken to secure the building.
And all my fears, they're lies I tell myself
We didn't start the fire

Thanks! They are one of my favorite too. They usually have more left behind than the big city schools do.

Thanks dude! It's a nice little "gymatorium" that turns into a ice rink in the winter. Next time you guys are in town we can check this one out. I always forget about it cuz it's kinda off the beaten path

Yes, absolutely. The murals on the walls and doors certainly give this place a artsy and creative feel!

Yes definitely a neat spot with a lot of school related things left behind. Hell, there are enough desks in one of the hallways to fill probably 4 or 5 classrooms!
