We real urban explorers all have the things we cannot stand other explorers do such as advertising their youtube channel in graffiti, or giving away locations so the place gets sealed off..
Well mine really pisses me off.
I've always despised ghost hunting shows, but even though I hated them and what they stand for, at least they kept it with places they paid to be in.
But now there are just entirely way too many fake web series from people such TFIL which as of now are the biggest douche bags that pull this shit.
Another group that has turned Urban Exploring into a shitty web series is "The proper People. They clearly have permission to go into the places they've been in and or have paid to be in them
One of the biggest frauds trying to act legitimate is Exploring with Josh I wrote a separate topic about him.
It's these types of asshat have been slowly been destroying the whole meaning of what urban exploring is supposed to be. It's groups like these are what's all wrong with urban exploring.

Lots of good locations have been ruined by ghost hunter and paranormal bozos.
Woodmen Circle home for one. It was a destination for the ghost buster séance weenies for years. Ooooh lets spray paint a pentagram and summon the dark lord!

They are actually well liked and respected here, and no, they do not get permission.
They do it just like the rest of it, but they film it, and they do it very well.

Receiving permission to check places out isn't bad. I actually applaud anyone risking permission to get in. It might not be "Urban exploring" but you're still seeing some pretty cool content from them

THIS, as long as you are having fun that's all that matters.
From experience, permission is NEVER as much fun but it can be nice to have a chill opportunity to explore and shoot and not have to worry sometimes

I'm honestly not impressed by them, what they do or where they go. But even still I will always concede to proper credit.
In that regard, you're 100% correct it is filmed real well, which is exactly my point. It's filmed a little too good their videos have TV and movie level editing which goes beyond just doing it for years.
As for saying they do not get permission is not entirely correct, maybe not all places, but Some of the places they've been in yes they have gotten permission because I know some of the locations and who runs them. They have also definitely paid to be in some of the places they've been in.
This is not meant to be an egotistical comment nor showing off it's to make a point. I've been in the professional entertainment business for over 15 years.
As being a professional entertainer, at the same level as the tonight show and CBS, and even Las Vegas
From being in the industry as long as I have, I coincidentally happen to know a lot about webseries and TV production, as well as how they function.
I'm connected to people and places the average person isn't, which poses a It's a huge problem when i say something about a respected group of people by someone such as yourself who has stature within a community.
Here I am new to the forum saying this, and you come defending them so you're going to get listened to over me..I accept that it comes with the territory. But it doesn't change the facts.
Deceptive video production is one of the greatest weapons a person pr group of people can have.
I didn't just pull that information out of thin air for no reason. I said it because it's a fact. They may be well liked here, but that doesn't change the fact that they're nothing but another group of webseries based garbage.
While that might generate me hate from people here I say it how it is. Getting mad at me isn't going to change anything I said. it's like someone who gives a movie review that pisses off the entire movie community, they may not like it and hate the person for it, but that's the review.
I'd rather be hated for the truth, then liked for for a lie or clout. I am fully aware of the ramifications of going against the grain of a community. I'm a big boy, I can deal with it.

Sorry, but what’s the point of doing this amount of research on him? Just because one pays to get into a location doesn’t instantly make them a “fake”.
There’s a handful of spots out there that’d willingly pay a good sum of money to get into.
In fact, I’d rather have someone get permission into a building if they’re distributing it as entertainment to a large audience. Even though the “experience” isn’t completely authentic, like Freaktography was saying, just let him do his thing, it isn’t hurting anyone nor the property itself to get permission.
I guess in your logic, permission=bad.

I get permission a majority of the time now. It’s the same thing really and sometimes better since you don’t have to watch your back or hurry up.
