Hey!
So, this happened in March of 2014 and I only told a few people at the time, then later on that year I posted it here in the Ontario forum, so up to this point it had only been told to friends and fellow explorers.
In January 2015 I noticed a lot of really bad news, such as the Charlie Hebdo bombing and the Boko Haram kidnapping just to name a few.
I decided to, in a small way, tell a good news story to whomever would listen.
I posted the story to my website and Facebook and it was quickly picked up by PetaPixel and then posted to Reddit....from there I literally lost all control of the story.
Next thing I know my website is blowing up and so is my email inbox with media requests or requests to publish it, praise, hate mail etc.
I turned down all interview and media requests and just sat back and watched as the story picked up a life of its own.
So, to this day every so often I still get notifications that the story is in the news again.
