Figured I would start off my postings here with this gym I ran across while trailblazing the other day (IE: Flying down backroads at 65+ MPH until I see something cool). This is hands down the most dangerous structure I've ever encountered. I refused to set foot anywhere that wasn't concrete, doing so would be suicidal. The floors appear to be made entirely out of plywood with typical basketball court wood ontop. The roof is extremely compromised, and the basement (which is the full size of the building) is flooded up to the 1st floor with 8 or so feet of water. One set of bleachers has already caved in, along with what I assume must have once been a stage area. I was able to get most of my shots through the existing doorways and windows. My understanding is that there used to be a school here accompanying this Gymnasium, but the school was torn down and the gym was left for community usage until it was abandoned sometime multiple decades ago probably due to the initial failings of the structure. There was a guy right next door to this that said the building gave him nightmares when his child was younger. This is the one and only structure I've ever encountered that I would not be sad to see torn down. Honestly I don't understand whats holding it up anymore.
I'm pretty sure someone tried to torch it once and failed as there is what looks like a partially melted container in one picture. The announcer control box is sitting feet from the entry way, but it may as well be in Fort Knoxx, the floor around it is bare rotten plywood. I don't recommend trying to enter this structure. At all. Its a perfect case of literally every 2 feet there being an enterance, but none of them being worth anything because the floor is fucked. I realize we aren't really supposed to discuss entry details publically, but anyone stupid enough to enter this literal shithole won't be around long enough to be a problem.
NOTE: The light areas on the photos are due to a camera lense defect on my Nikon L620
NOTE: This has been reposted due to multiple complaints of my images being so large they broke the functionality of UER. They are resized to around half 1080p, so standard displays (1600x900 and up) should manage them fine. If the admins would like to nuke the old thread, that would be fine.
