I have been wanting to explore this place for sometime. Built in 1957, the historic Campbells Soup Mushroom Farm once produced 2.5 million button mushrooms per month. Presently it is not in use and most of the grow rooms are abandoned. There is a regeneration project of the land and facility which is currently happening. the Mushroom Farm is listed in the UER database. More information can be found in the database.

As I drove up to the entrance, I was greeted by a very friendly member of The Mushroom Farm community. I was granted permission to drive around the grow rooms and take photos.

At first I thought they were going to repurpose the facility but with further research, I think they have other plans for it.
I did get a strange vibe from the people I talked to. It seemed that they were not all on the same page.
When I drove around the grow rooms they were all abandoned but on the side there was a place they were stabling horses. There were also lived in RVs on the upper grow room lots.
They did mention that there were people living and leasing parts of the area for there own interests. I read somewhere that they may be growing cannabis in one of the grow rooms. There was also signs of a recent fire due to a Lipo battery explosion.
Ten minutes into my exploration a white van rolled up on me and asked me politely to leave immediately Turns out that my granted exploration was over ruled by someone.
As I was leaving they said I was invited to eat lunch with them. I politely declined and
left. Just very odd behaviour. I am sure that there may be things I am not supposed to see there and that's cool. I got what came for.
There is more to this story but I want to do a little more research.

While I'm glad that there's a presence there to help deter vandals & illegal scrappers, etc. your report leaves me wondering if the people & operations there are legally on the property, or if they're more-like semi-benevolent squatters.
I suspect the reason that you were asked to leave is because the site isn't up to building/electrical code & there's no certificate of occupancy, so if they start to get a lot of publicity, the county is going to be obligated to inspect the grounds & issue violations.

Probably a little bit of both. I know there is a permaculture movement that operates on the land. The place still produces mushrooms on a smaller scale. I did get contact information in case I want to do a return visit. All in all it was good but brief explore.
