Urban Explorer Game
https://store.stea...or_clanid=35644117

Has anyone else seen this?

It seems pretty ridiculous to me.

However part of me wonders how realistic it is. It likely only covers the exciting parts however one wonders if it covers:

1) 1000 Km round trips only to find your location is gone?
2) Countless hours of searching old maps and satellite photos only to execute the above?
3) Extra points for the serial shitter at locations? (Looking at the people i have explored with that seemed to shit at every location we explore)
4) Bonus points for eliminating the shitheads that give away locations for Instagram / YouTube points.

I expect this will be a total flop lol

Strange, looks interesting.
Who knows how it will pan out?

Personally I avoid online games; I run 99% of my apk downloads through playstore and eagle eye any downloads or rogue website slam dunks.
Never had to wipe an Android OS in over 5 years due to trojans, worms etc.
Caught a few though before they got triggered...

The film camera advance sound made me chuckle. Somebody did their research.

I wonder if the developers thought about adding these aspects of an urban explorer's life:

1) Doing laundry instead of exploring
2) Procrastinating instead of editing pictures
3) Online troll-wars on UER
4) Fencing off IG kids who always ask you for locations

Also, any UE game wouldn't be complete without these realistic elements:

1) UE meet-ups and all the ensuing drama
2) Trying to prevent Bilph from Bilphing locations
3) End-of-level bosses such as Syphillis Lawless

The trailer has been posted here before, can't really remember how long ago exactly though. I'm surprised it's gotten this far honestly.

1) 1000 Km round trips only to find your location is gone?
2) Countless hours of searching old maps and satellite photos only to execute the above?

I feel this so much, honestly.

The developer is probably a small indie studio, not sure what kind of price they're asking for the game but I assume it's very easy to at least break even. Valve takes a $100 fee to host your game on Steam and then takes a 30% cut of all revenue.

If one were to compare the game to real AAA titles though... yeah probably.

My knees have recently begun hurting me the past two months, from all my crawling and poor climbing maneuvers where I placed my knee on tiny rough edges to climb up onto something. Ouch! Maybe instead of Urban exploring in real life I can just play this game! I'm down to try it. They should release some 4d effect boxes as perks you can buy to upgrade your playing experience. Like fog machines and wind simulator.

One thing the game will never be able to provide is the actual smell of an abandoned building.

Edit: typos

Well maybe they could make a perk box accessory that has chemicals inside it and can make scents... I've always thought it'd be cool to somehow take a sample of a smell from different places. But I don't know if and how that is possible. While they are at it they should just make one box that does all four and what ever others would like it to include... fog smoke, smells, and wind. Lights would be a good thing too. Like a rotating light bulb so it can simulate like a reflecting off all walls in room your playing the game police lights coming after you. Red and blue! and they gradually get brighter till they are right outside the building your urban exploring within the game. Perhaps there's windows and the lights are reflecting through them onto the walls within the building your avatar is exploring! I cant't wait till the games and game systems 15 years from now!

After reading the replies to this I agree (and didn't really think of) that you can't capture the experience without the smell.

That intoxicating bouquet of musty mold, mixed with stinky filth water and a hint of vagrant ass is a big part of the experience.

The average person smells it and is probably turned off but for me when I smell it I get flooded with memories of days gone by exploring old derelict asylums, old friends, and good times.

I basically already see exploring as a game. You go to unfamiliar areas, discover new things and meet new people, conquer objectives marked on a map, and discover hidden goals along the way. As time goes on you advance and become fully involved, much like how nieve characters at the beginning of a game wind up becoming wrapped up in the plot by the end. Plus every now and again the police get involved and you have to run or hide from them. Its like grown up hide and seek with a Grand Theft Auto edge. But really, I think what we do is much cooler than any video game, and the only way to truly get it is to experience it firsthand.

Meh. I just play Last of Us and call it a location.

Guess I should add it to the database along with Silent Hill.

Speaking of Urban exploring game how about a thread to be created if not already which is dedicated to taking pictures of security from within places? The sort of game of instead of trying to be as far away as possible from them you try to get as close pictures as possible? Perhaps a stupid idea but supposed I would ask before just doing so.
