Collapsey Asylum

Part of a much larger hospital complex, this area closed down in the early 1990s and has suffered some of the most extreme decay and collapses I've seen in a building since Westborough State Hospital. The upper floors in here are of the kind that could kill you at any moment, and even being on the lower floor is bad enough with sagging floors riddled with dry rot hanging above your head.

Since my friend last visited, the entire roof section on the left hand side had collapsed taking all the remaining floors with it making it totally impassable. Luckily the other side is just about holding on however I can't see it lasting past this winter!

You have much bigger balls than I do. Did you do anything to make sure floors were solid?

Definitely worthy of a westborough comparison, that's some crazy water damage. Glad you decided to venture inside and take some photos, great set!

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.

I've never seen such a large building in such bad shape, you're definitely braver than I walking on that floor.

I didn't even entertain going across the upper floors, the shots I took of those were taken from the end of the hallway looking into the wards as although the floor there was wooden it wasn't in quite as bad a state. You can't quite see it from the photo but the entire top floor is sagging right from the doorway!
