When you say that you can be tagged the first time, would they know exactly who you are and where you live from just a few photos/videos?

Do you have a drivers license or state issued photo ID card ?

Question answered, they store the same photo in Texas for everything DL, LTC with your face, its in the system, so …

Other sources may be used to glean facial images/ID as well for their databases.
If you're messing with the Feds all bets are off.

What do you think happens when the feed goes down at the call center where the real live people have a direct line to police dispatch?

And that's assuming it's not hard wired... and not one operated by the Feds.
Nothing worse than a bunch of pissed off Feds...
guaranteed to get their immediate attentions.

A jammer using dispersed R/B/G laser beams can be used to super saturate a cam's sensor, blinding it.
A dead give away that something's up though...

I've also started seeing surveillance that is specifically geared toward high rise construction explorers. Thieves don't take the stairs all the way to the 25th floor where I've seen cameras mounted in the stairwell. They don't go to the roof either.

I've also seen two sites now where they didn't even install cameras until the crane topped out. They know.

I gotta be honest, though, its so much more fun when they see you coming.

Guess you could rip out the cam feed line at ground level if you're able to spot it, and wait a couple hours to see if anyone shows up before doing it.
Did I just say that?
Mustn't think bad thoughts...

Luckily they still seem to think we need the stairs to get up. For now.

"Another UER Greatest Moments post!"

That was ment as a joke even though my twin brother and I would jam stuff back in the '80s with the above equipment.

To be honest I go on active construction sites from houses to skyscrapers every day of the week and I've never seen "active monitoring". Not looking for it though.

2 things:

First It's a liability issue. Insurance companies dont want you there unless authorized.

Secondly, Alot of the security on construction sites can be pretty lame. Many times on a Sunday I have to "find" my way in...

I don’t know much about smart cameras, but I do know that I’ve been caught by a camera more than once. Were they “smart” cameras? No idea, but they were obviously smart enough to tell someone we were there.

Three incidents immediately come to mind: two of those involved property owners/managers without police (I was alone both times and allowed to leave without any problems both times), one time the police showed up within minutes, but we were still outside, so no harm done.

All three incidents happened several years ago when I first became interested in this hobby. I’ve since learned to pay much closer attention and to look for signs of CCTV and the like, but it is always a potential risk, no matter how careful you are.

Lastly, I think that construction sights are riskier in many ways - mostly because of the valuable equipment, etc. left on site, and liability issues. Property owners are usually paying more attention to their new high rise multi-use development than the decaying school down the road that closed down in 2012.

Funny, I never miss large cities... the further out I am in the middle of nowhere the better.
Stop missing trees a long time ago.
Just a desert rat by nature

A Wittle Smartcam Network Story:
It was the shithole city of Chester PA that I encountered my first smartcam network in 2004 I believe it was.
Part of the 911 spin off to curb terrorism.
Chester was picked because it was a drug infested petrochemical port.
The FBI (and Homeland Security) set up an extensive and hidden smartcam network there and a massive operation targeting drug dealers/users.
On Morton Ave and Hwy 13, crack central, the state built a large prison that specializes in drug offender/rehab. The FBI headquarters for that operation was a couple blocks to the west in a large brownstone house.
It was winding down in 2004 and had been very succesful.
They cleaned up Chester considerably especially crack central which was near the old Sun Shipyard, now a casino.
I barely could recognize it from the early 80's.
My favorite dive bar on Morton Ave was gone... fun times.

I tried to warn UER members about smart networks 10 years ago.
Most ridiculed my efforts.
A few since then have certainly got tagged by smartcam networks...even if they didn't know it.
Who's laughing now? LMAO

Don't get me wrong I will never live in a city ever again! I do miss the guys in the DEA (Dallas Explorers Association) We would meet late at night at a bar or a little Mexican restaurant in the hood near downtown (east Dallas) where the entire staff only spoke Espanol. I miss that place. The around midnight we would hit the streets to see what we could get into, followed the fabled creek under downtown and found it connected to the Rat Race Drain. We spent hours in downtown buildings both active and closed and on top of several of them and never got caught by smart cams or dumb security either LOL

Am I in some database? Im sure I am Ive actually paid good money got printed and photographed to be in some HAHA! Well Dallas is safe now the DEA have all moved away some got married, had kids, had family issues, one opened a business in another state. Some of us even went straight!

That's life amigo.

Sounds like great fun.
Live in Mesquite in 2010 for a few months but never got time to splore anything.
I miss all the industrial and institutional sploring oops in the NE
Texas is a much better state though, lots of work, fewer taxes and bs regulations... and it's warm. I hate winter.

As for where smartcams are I only know a few spots from personal experience, documentaries, press releases and word of mouth.
Dallas may have few but certainly some private corp ones covering their assets.
Houston, ie petrochemical port cities are much more likely to have what I saw in Chester but I'm not aware of it if so.
Walking in to one like I witnessed in Chester is a very rude surprise especially since they just watched for a couple visits before knocking on my door.
The FBI wuvs doing all kinds surveillance and active infiltration... and are excellent at it
The way you spot them is by their behaviour not appearance as they blend in very well.
What you do gives away who you are... most perps spot them way too late if at all.
Or will only make the first team which will then disengage meanwhile a second team that's better concealed being present from the start continues the surveillance.
Fascinating as hell.

Dallas is always interesting at night - especially because of the nearby city jail. I've met all kinds of colorful people downtown just released on bail. They always have the best stories.
