Posted by bandi The Cooper winter tires are actually still doing quite well on the 755,000 km Jetta. I'm a bit of an alignment nazi so they'd better not fucking wear unevenly... but yeah, for new tires that were about the cost of used ones, I'm quite happy.

i have never had any luck with Cooper tires... I've had a few sets over the years, the first being four Cooper Weathermasters. Two of them peeled at speed on me... kind of frightening to have two tires come apart on either side of the car at 70mph. the last were a set of Cooper Cobras (white-lettered, of course). They wore like Play-Doh and were on the car maybe a year before I had to get new tires. Was NOT impressed. Anyways...

I figured the car would die before they were worn out/shifted a belt/separated (hence going with the cheapest possible winter tire) but here we are at 757,000 km.
hi i like cars | |
the tires were advertised as 70,000 miles tires. So far, we are 30,000 miles and the tread is getting down there. Probably not going to buy uniroyals again. my brother tells me that I will need new tires before winter. Swell. Always before winter. (eyeroll). anyways...
