Location not on the map
< on 10/5/2019 9:57 AM >
Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
I have been to a location and I have photos but it isn't on the map. It hasn't been demolished or anything as of June 2019. Is there someone who I can talk to about getting this new location in the database since I don't have that membership standing?

It might be on the map and you just can't see it- basic members can only see demolished locations and locations that the creator marked as "fully public," while full members can see the hidden locations too- and most undemolished locations are marked for full members only to ensure they aren't destroyed by vandals. Otherwise, maybe it's just not on the database.

Just gotta bide your time and get that full membership, dude- then you can add all the locations and photos you want.

Ah okay. I just wanted to share my cool photos. It's all good. I'll probably never be able to get a full membership because I don't have a lot of time to explore and such.

You can always share the images here in the forum. Im sure many of us would enjoy them. Also, there is no exact formula for full membership. Even if you can't always get out you can still contribute ideas and opinions. I feel like I gauge more about a person from words than photos anyway.

Your enthusiasm is appreciated! Your cement factory explore was pretty cool. It's nice to see you sharing pics. Be sure an check out the FAQ - it has lots of good info, including this oddly specific one to your post "Q: ZOMG! I have this great location to add to the LDB but I can't because I'm not a full member!"

Welcome to UER - keep the cool photo shares up!

This should have been posted on the Rookies Forum.
There are dozens of tutorials for new members to read on this site and thousands of threads.
If you don't understand something spend at least a few days if not weeks, months exploring this site before asking unless it's a critical functionality issue such as a basic function not working.
A little mystery and suspense is good for you.
This is the slickest, easiest site to navigate I've ever used and by simply exploring/playing with it you will learn it.
Take the initiative and explore it.

FM? When I first came here I never concerned myself with getting my FM.
We like pics... we like members who contribute meaningful content in threads and posts.
We want people who like to being here and do the above.
You will be noticed if you try, are persistent and are liked by other FMs.
This means communicating through posts, threads and PMs so members get to know you on a personal level. Trust is important here; you need to build it.
If you are impressive enough you may earn your FM rapidly.
More than one way to do it too.
You need to have enough wherewithal to read between the lines here but you need to read to learn.
This site is as easy or hard as you make it.

Read, read, read and learn from others mistakes; try not to repeat them both here and while sploring.

I think the big misunderstanding, which I've seen elsewhere, is that the way to participate in this site is to upload pictures to the database. Nothing could be more inaccurate, but we get a lot of people who seem to think so.

I think you're are correct although the reasons elude me.
UER is more about sharing pics, knowledge, experiences and a place to socialize online than sharing locations.
Many exchanges here however goes on behind the scenes via PMs.
The whole site its self is a vast data base that's fun to look through. Each member's post history is viewable and easy to call up.
One of this site's key tools.

Being able to see realtime the page a member was viewing was great; found many old interesting threads and pics like this that I never probably would have seen here without it.
A feature that was removed more out of paranoia than actual misuse in my opinion... note -who- is saying this.
It was an opportunity to see this site through new eyes...

The "who is looking" tab on the Database entries? Or are you talking about a different feature?

It was a feature found in Online Users, there be a link to the page each member was viewing realtime.
The mod board was not viewable as well as private boards.

If you add it to the data base it will get set on fire, flooded, vandalized, demolished and searched, Nazis will probably move in but worst of all it will get graffiti'd all.

Having my own private boards here, hence a green star with mod view... taught me a lot
