I spent a week in Iceland over the summer, during which time I had the opportunity to visit hands down the coolest location I've yet explored in my young UE career. A large steel ship, built in 1912, was decommissioned after many decades of service and, instead of being scuttled, was abandoned on a remote beach in the Westfjords, a little visited but extremely beautiful area of Iceland. The ship was right along the side of the road, so accessing it was no issue (aside from the remoteness of the location). First some shots from above deck
Now let's start exploring the back half
Made it into the captain's quarters! Can get some good views out the windows and get a good look at this crazy control equipment.
Let's mozy on over to the front half of the ship
Down these stairs
Down below we found this room full of tiny cots, covered in interesting graffiti
Some more below deck pics
As a free bonus, check out this much smaller abandoned boat we found nearby (it had a much less impressive captain's quarters)
Hope you enjoyed! Sorry for so many pics, I had a hard time pruning them down. Also, my friend shot a video of the interior, if I can get it from him I'll upload it to the video section of the forum.

Great pictures, I wish you'd have taken some so that the whole boat is visible (so we can see the scale). Other than that, nice!

Awesome find! That's a pretty cool spot.
"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there. | |

Been kicking myself for not getting any shots like that; my friend got lots of shots like so I didn't bother, but now I haven't been able to get in touch with him. Damn. Would have been a good opportunity to show the scenery too. Glad you enjoyed though!

Thanks! This is definitely the best spot I've gotten to visit so far, so I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the pics. Excited to see what the future may hold.
