This was one of my favorite explorations and gave me some of the best ATL skyline pictures I've seen in a while (pics at bottom). I first went to this place and the place next door (if you, know you know) a year ago with 6ozy and boy was it a different experience. I used to be so much cleaner and wasn't destroyed and tagged like it is now. After it appeared on a some TV show (won't say which), some fans figured out the location and word got out. When I went back with 6ozy again a couple months ago, we found a ton of normal people taking selfies and pictures from the outside. Thankfully, almost all of them stayed outside and left us alone. Managed to snap a few cool pics while we were in there and I'm finally getting around to uploading them. BTW: Elevators still work and can support people however, I would avoid using them and just take the stairs. The "Theatre": DSC_0001 by goon1 !, on Flickr The lights still work too! Here's a link to the flickr album. There's a few pics I didn't put in this thread that are in there and I may find some others to upload eventually. Edit 1: My dumb ass forgot the link https://flic.kr/s/aHsmHtnsGG

Seems really intact for being well known now. Was there anything still in what looked like a mainframe computer (DSC_0099)? Those things are notoriously hard to move so I'm not surprised it got left behind but would still be really cool to see if it's intact.

These pictures don't show case a lot of the graffiti and destruction that has sadly happened there recently. I think a company may be using the roof as a cell tower or maybe the institution who owns the place uses it provide wireless internet. The room in the picture you referenced is still fully functional and had power. There was also a lot of tech on the roof that looked like it may be used as a cell tower or something of the sort (see pics). I'd be curious to find out more. I'll do some research and ask around and post an update with findings or if I go back.

Super love these!! I'm kind of a nut for abandoned hospitals (though I doubt I would trust the 'working' elevators either)...looks like there's some interesting leftovers. That theatre looks very similar to one I found in another old psych ward; the seats are about identical. Nice skyline shots, also. Thanks for sharing!

This is very cool. I stopped by here a few years back on my trip down that way. Unfortunately either filming was still going on or they were cleaning up from filming. Tons of people were coming in and out of the place. Packing stuff up in vans/trucks it appeared. Nice to see the inside

Thank you!

This was my first time exploring a hospital and it definitely one for the books. I need to find some more hospitals to explore and go back and explore this one a little more. I love seeing all the medical equipment and old files.

The first time I went they was a ton of trailers and filming equipment, but luckily no one was there expect a couple security guards so 6ozy and I got to have a look around. The place really has changed a lot in the last year and no doubtably since you've been there. If you're ever in town its worth a quick stop.

Nice photos. Looks like it was a cool spot. Sadly, when places get popular they usually go downhill.
Still working on it... Until then IG: @the_digital_cow |

UPDATE 10/11/19: There is currently more filming going on (not sure for what) and the place is on lock down with security and people coming in and out constantly. All of the other entrances have been re-secured by the owner and the entire place is air tight now. The only way in is either with the camera crew or the security guard. I got to look around a little and noticed that it looks like the first floor has been repainted and the entire area has been cleaned up (no more trash, broken glass, etc). Hopefully it will go back to being an abandoned gem soon. Good luck to any future explorers who go there. Keep me posted on your success because I'd love to go back and see more than just the first floor.

Cool spot! Sucks about the lockdown.

Yeah it's never fun when some place gets put under surveillance. Got to look around a little on the inside and it looks like they repainted it all white for the new guests. I'm pretty sure the place will be open again soon; you just need to know the right time to go.

Nice looking spot, glad you were able to get in before all the activity.

Drove by this spot a couple of weeks ago; Workers were renovating the place. As I was leaving I also saw a cop pulling into the place. I can confirm that there is def a lot of activity here now

Great find and cool photos. It does not look that old. I wonder when it closed.

They're doing a lot of filming there now. Security has the whole place completely locked down. All of the doors now have electronic locks and can only be accessed by key card. They also added new (working) cameras and have cops/security patrolling 24/7 now. This place is as good as demoed

I hit this place a couple of weeks ago since I was passing through the area. I was able to get an hour or so inside before darkness came. Though not my favorite type of explore, (I like old stuff, peeling paint, etc plus the power was on) it was still fun!
