Hey friends! I've got two questions for you all: First is how do you post a new location for a certain area? Do I have to be a certain type of user, and if so, how do I get that status? Second question is: is there anyone out in the Knoxville/East Tennessee/Near area that wants to explore sometime? Climb a crane or two? Send me a message here, or on Instagram

Post in the Photography forum or your local regional board. You will get more views in the Photography forum though. As a basic member you can not see private threads posted by FMs. Any section or thread you can view, you can post on. You can make a thread you post private so only you and FMs can view it by asking a mod to make it a private vs publicly viewable thread. As for cranes, you need free climbing skills on structural steel. Cranes aren't a good place to start; water tanks are far safer and easier. You need to have good hand and upper body strength to free climb safely and effectively. You need to be fit enough to climb at least a 90 foot steel ladder on water tank without resting before you tackle a crane. If you run out of juice before you make it back down the results won't be good. Learn your climbing limits both physically and mentally before you attempt a long climb and stresses you'll encounter on a crane climb. Free climbing is a learned skill set that also requires complete focus on the climb as well as managing your fear. If you fall, you die...

Thanks! I've been climbing cranes for a year now, it definitely takes a lot of work! Fortunately we have a lot here, so I get my practice in ;)
