Completed in 1921, this Detroit school originally taught 350 students in grades kindergarten through eight among thirteen teachers. Grades seven and eight were moved to another new school the next year. This school was the first in a new wave of elementary schools constructed to allow for easy expansion. They were built in three phases to allow the school to operate while the latter two units were being built. Some of the schools in this group were only built through the second phase. The second phase of this school was completed in 1924, adding a gym, two playrooms, a lunchroom, and extra classrooms. A kindergarten wing consisting of five rooms was built in a separate, smaller building on the same property in 1961. The school closed in 2007. Although it has been heavily damaged by scrappers and vandals, its historical value provides it a sliver more protection from demolition than many of its counterparts. 1. Damn KD20 that is shook out... Solid "night" shots
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. | |
Shot #2 - I just can't get enough of steps covered in the crumble from walls and ceilings. Probably one of my favorite subjects! Nice set KD - thanks for the tour!

I really dig this set! I remember driving past this school on the way to something else and letting out a groan. It was late in the day and there were people all over, but the front doors were gone. We ran through and didn't really shoot much of it. The architecture of the auditorium made it worthwhile though.

It's amazing how similar places can look when they're this destroyed. #2 looks exactly like a different school in detroit. Cool pics and looks like a fun explore. The auditorium looks cool.

14 to be exact! I mean there are literally dozens and dozens of schools in Detroit so I guess it's just a case of finding the accessible ones.

And if you just imagine what kind of school it was back then. How many students were there. How much fun and laughter it was. Unfortunately, even now the schools are closing, the students have some discomfort in learning. The classrooms are overcrowded and teachers can't spend time with everyone. Fortunately, there is the possibility to use the website https://ukessay.co...er-writing-service to solve problems with learning. With this website you can buy research papers online from the best British writers. By the way, it seems to me that there may be an article about the history of this building with detailed information.
