Change of Scenery

With a change in my career, my family and I moved half-way across the country last month, which means a fresh new area to explore and new abandonments on every outing. The new job gives me WAY more days off than I had before which also means more time for proper outings.

I did two separate trips and found an old mechanic shop, a logging company's machine shop and some interesting houses along the way. My Google Map is working overtime right now, scouting every stray road and tiny town and I've had a lot of locals give me tips about cool places too.

Dumb idea: I reached into a hole in a glass window to access a door. Thinking if I did it slowly and carefully I would be ok. My arm ever-so slightly crazed the edge of the glass and I didn't even feel the razor cuts until I looked at my arm in surprise.

Thanks for viewing!

Congrats on the new job (and the extra 'splorin time)! These are some great shots...I haven't seen a sink like in pic 3 since I was in elementary school; I think ours was a bit larger (though of course I was smaller then 😉).
I also really like 6, and 10-12, but these are all killer pics! Thanks for sharing!

Whoa! How did you get the bird in the window? Was that a lucky shot or is that bird stuffed? Holy hell these are amazing!

The bird was just a baby. The momma made a nest in the house. There were 3 baby birds in the kitchen and this one was trying to get out the window to escape. I snapped a quick photo but left it alone after that. ..poor thing.
