The Hackensack River is very tidal as well. So if they did in fact leave the escape hatch at the tale end open, a strong high tide could possibly be enough to flood it. The current in that river can be crazy. The sub is stuck on the bottom which is part of the problem why they are having trouble finding what to do with it.

Another thing, many may not realize how extremely disgusting and polluted that river is. I would never even touch that water let alone wade in it. There is debate going on here right now to declare the watershed a superfund site.

See my link above. The purposely cut locks, opened hatches to deliberately flood her.
They may have also open seaward valves; they had their greasy little hands all over her.

These idiots didn't steal the plagues. A member removed them and other relics to safe guard them from morons like this group.
He later returned them when he heard they were thought to be stolen.
A small blessing... however these scumbunnies may have looted other items.

Well not exactly. It says that they were anonymously returned by a "member". But then the head of the organization says that it was definitely not a member. So... its anyones guess.

Ummm, this is a long drawn out story. Took a while for some of the dust to settle.

As it turned out, "they were in possession of a member of the association," Capt. Peter Buscilgio said.
When that person learned of the investigation, "he reached out to the museum and returned the plaques," the captain said.

How low must one go to consider breaking into a war memorial to begin with? Seriously, what complete idiots.
Regardless of whether or not the flooding was intentional, the damage was done as a result of their stupidity. I hope they get a nice long sentence from whatever court ends up with this unfortunate case.

At least they were stupid enough to take (and post) photos of their little exploration flooding spree. Should make the prosecution's job nice and easy.

Whoa, this is seriously the RNK all day crew? They got a way into a local hospital sealed because they filmed themselves coming out of it. I'm surprised they did all this though.

Location, location, location and lack of money may doomed the USS Ling to the cutter's torch.
These assholes increased the costs of repair and moving exponentially if it's even now doable.
These war museums run of tight budgets relying on donations and volunteers to operate.

Many like the historic USS Enterprise CV-6 have been lost because of a lack of funding.
It was the most decorated warship in WW2.
What chance does the USS Ling have?
They killed her.

First of all, RNK's last name is not Hemmberger or whatever. 2nd of all, Rob does not take unnecessary risks. I have collaborated with him numerous times, and he will not go to an abandoned place if there's a high risk of arrest. He has done some incredibly risky explores in the past, but one time he and his wife were almost hit with some serious charges, and he realized he could not risk his entire life for a video, or an explore. He has had a very successful career as a house flipper and a contractor. Furthermore, he has a wife who is a very successful business woman. And he also has a very successful Youtube channel. He doesn't even want trespassing charges, so what makes you think he's going to put his entire life at stake to flood a goddamned submarine? And 3rd, he is not the kind of explorer that vandalizes. He is one of the least hooligan-like explorers I have ever met. He's very calm, collective, and level-headed. I have never seen him do anything that resembles vandalism, and I have explored with him like 20 times.

So before you begin posting slanderous material about someone on the internet, you better have your facts straight.

Just because you don't like Youtubers doesn't give you the right to falsely accuse someone of a serious crime. Ok, hate on Youtubers, we're the reincarnation of Stalin mixed with trace amounts of Hitler and Idi Amin. But don't try and destroy a man's reputation over some Youtube videos.

Stay classy UER.

P.S I hope you ever flooded that submarine receives some very harsh punishments. Hopefully since its a former Navy vessel they can rack-up some federal charges or something. And on top of that I hope they get sued for the damage. The one's responsible should receive the maximum penalties under the laws they broke.

The police blotter lists a Robb Hemberger, 37, of Island Park, New York.
Real unfortunate to have that name in this thread, more so if you're 37 and from Island Park NY.
Otherwise I have no clue how this happened...

If MaxPowers vouches for him though he's probably fucked...

He got arrested because of a farmhouse after the fact because of their video. Hes a moron. Regardless I heard it was Rob from RNK from others too, Pear isn't the only one saying it.

The one I just looked up has only lived in Island Park and West Hempstead. His twitter location is Long Beach, merely minutes away. Along with the tweets just posted, I’m fairly fucking certain this is him. I can go into more detail about other things as well.

Yeah, that's pretty damning. The names match, the locations match, the time frames match, and RNK visited an abandoned submarine right around the time the Ling sank.

By the looks of things it sounds like though RNK and co likely did not steal the plaques, they did accidentally flood the Ling by leaving hatches unsecured when they left. At the end of the day it's no different than those "explorers" who light buildings on fire while twirling steel wool- though there wasn't malicious intent, the degree of negligence is so severe that there isn't any practical difference. The theft of the plaques is almost irrelevant compared to the fact they sank a US submarine and destroyed a war memorial.

In the face of this evidence, I can't see how RNK could possibly be innocent.
