Barracks

Originally built in the late 1930s, the barracks were designed to house 1500 people and cost nearly 2 million (36m today) to build. Renovated heavily over the years (adding internal walls in the late 1930s, a club in the 1940s, additional mess halls in the 1950s, a game area in the 1960s, and a remodel of the internal walls [along with the restructuring of a section to be designated specifically for women] in the 1970s]), they continued being used up until the surrounding installation was decommissioned. While multiple proposals for repurposing the area as a whole have been made, the majority of structures are being individually repurposed, resulting in those without tenants being left abandoned.

Apologies for the poor image, couldn’t get my phone to properly focus in that room

Sick shots! I love those long-dilapidated-hallway shots, and the one with the pool table is quite cool and spooky.

Any clue what that big room was (the one that your phone wouldn't focus for)? Bit hard to tell from the photo but it looks really neat.

Are you sure this is abandoned? This look about the same as the one I live in now.

The space in the blurry photo was a nightclub.

When the building it sits in was built, it was originally a gymnasium. It was converted to a club in the 1940s and was originally named the "White Hat Club". The club was later remodeled and renamed in the 1970s; while changes were made afterwards, the general 1970-s atmosphere remains. The remodel added a few new spaces - most notably a second dance floor and two additional bars.

Sweet shots! Were they all taken on your phone or just that one?

Most were taken on a phone. A few were taken on a point-and-shoot that does a far better job in natural lighting conditions.
