My year of photographing old and rusty vehicles is continuing unabated - with this one being slightly different!

My travels on this day took me to a couple of fails, and I hadn't initially planned on going to this place as it was an hour further away from home but I'm glad me and my pair of companions on this trip agreed to head up there, it was definitely the best choice we could have made. The air was heavy with the British summer humidity following a heavy rain shower and it was still trying to rain the whole time we were there, but I managed to get all that I wanted. At least the slate-grey skies were better for shooting with no harsh contrasts caused by the sunlight.

This is one place I truly know nothing about, the machinery is all abandoned in a field sandwiched between a railway line and a biomass power plant, with no access to other fields and no nearby farms it would appear that it is totally forgotten about, as concrete blocks and a large excavator minus it's rear wheels stop anyone from getting into it the 'correct' way through the only access gate.

Most of the machinery dates from the 1970s/1980s but there are a handful of newer things in there too.

Interesting to see the name "Hanomag" so frequently here, as most people would probably recognize it from their best known product:
