The last couple of weekends have been brutally hot and humid, punctuated by violent thunderstorms, but the weather hasn't managed to keep me home yet. Nor did it seem to phase the scrapper I heard working in the shop section of this former high school, who went unnervingly quiet as I shot a few quick pics and jogged off to the other side of the building. Besides that one brief encounter, I had the rest of this massive institution to myself the entire afternoon. 1.)

Great shots, love how you can see a lot of the overgrowth from the inside.

Wow, there's a bit of everything in this school...even with the unfortunate destruction and vandalism, looks like this place has a lot to offer in photo-ops. That auditorium is great, and I really like those shop rooms! That library/media center is pretty sweet, too. Thanks for sharing another awesome explore!

Ambivalent? Well yes and no |

Thanks very much, everyone! This is the first place I've been to that actually had anything left inside to make it feel like a proper school, in massive quantities, so there was a lot to poke through. I was especially struck by all of the books left in the library that I'd read while in school myself. Very nostalgic.

From what I gather, this place was last used for the city's vo-tech programs, after it officially closed as a proper high school. These included nursing and cosmetology programs, as well as mechanic's classes, all of which you can still see many remnants of.
