Shot thru a broken window at Cherokee Mental Institute. Thought interesting how it split focused and unfocused..... Thoughts?

Might look better if the broke glass was in focus/focus point with the cam more back and f/8+ for starters.
Frame/crop as needed.
Stop it down and decrease the exposure to try catch what's in the room and outside.
Shooting near dawn or dusk might give nice results.
The yellowish blur at the bottom detracts from the image for me.
Experiment; see what looks best.

I'd say definitely point it up a bit to get that yellow bit out, or just desaturate it until it looks nice. I would play with the placement of the window to see what looks best. Maybe take a shot with the windows in the background completely unobstructed and the foreground off to the side, and take some the other way around. I normally take a bunch and just see what turns out. I might end up taking 30 of the same shot between retakes for sharpness, hdr, or trying compositions. Just experiment and see what works.

And if I didn't mention it yet, great shot!

I like it the way it is. Could be a nice GIF or video clip to juxtapose the same-framed shot with different focal lengths.

Thanks all. I appreciate the input! My thought when I took it was the juxtaposition kind of between the light and dark with the focus on the grit and junk on the floor. I like the ideas of pulling in our out to pull in more of the window. I wanted to capture the window but not have it be a focus which was why I left the streak of the window at the bottom, I went back and forth on leaving it or cropping it out. Cool to get some input!

i like this image. there are technical flaws that some may point out, but despite that, i find the photo interesting and it makes me want to see more of what is inside this building. as previously mentioned, the only suggestion i have is to lower the saturation on the lower portion of the image to avoid that yellow color you are getting at the bottom. thanks for sharing.
