The lovely Allison Grace and my incredible self explore the remains of Rock-A-Hoola Water Park in the Lake Delores desert. We leave just in time to outrun a flash thunder storm! The park opened in 1962 and closed down in 2004. Why? Because a park employee decided to have an after hours ride on the fastest water slide in the park. But he did not wait long enough for the pool at the end of the ride to fill up enough. He slammed into the pool wall and was paralyzed ..and then sued. LOL - same as the recently deleted from the new extra-sensitive member who has since not returned, Dolores Lake Waterpark: https://www.uer.ca...=1&threadid=130396 Park continued to operate weekends only in 2002 and 2003 under the name Discovery Waterpark. Wikipedia - In 2003, Olympic Gold Medalist and former professional football player Ron Brown and the Pro Players Network, a group of former and current professional athletes, formulated a proposal to purchase the park and turn it into a camp for disadvantaged youths, but this effort failed.

Give abandonment a reason for its sacrificial reclamation to nature. Love it. Remember it. Take a picture. Share it. Leave the decay to nature. Lifetime member of The Anti-MyInstaTubeTweetFace consortium. | |
