Joplin, Missouri...one of the many towns along historic Route 66, also has a cool abandoned place to explore....if you can get past the fence. The Joplin Union Railroad Depot was operational from 1911 until 1969. After that, it sat empty...and still does. When I had a chance to check the place out back in April, there was plenty of evidence showing it had been infiltrated by locals...namely grafitti....and a lot of it. This location is under video surveillance 24/7. Barbed-wire fence and video monitoring is a big deterrent. Enter at your own risk.
