Software and hardware.

I use right now (cause theres no money for a mac) a 600mhz athalon processor PC. I use a nikon 5400 (no money for DV yet) to shoot. I have a mini-disc recorder(compliments of my ex) and i use studio 8 software to edit. and memories on TV to convert .mov files to .mpg for editing.

i compress with sorenson squeeze.

please and if anyone uses actual cellulois film i would like to hear about it as well. this is about all types of film making not just digital.

Canon Hi-8 video camera, in need of a converter (maybe a Dazzle card?)

PC with Pentium 4, 512 RAM (need more), etc. Not really a computer dude.

Canon A-80 for the timelapse stuff, or it's .avi mode when there's no other option.

Whatever I can mooch/borrow/whatever from friends and UND's Art Department.

I use Adobe Premiere for PC (I can't stand using Macs), but lately I've been using the Windows Movie Maker software that comes with XP for editing and compression, started out using it just to put together timelapses but it turns out it's a more advanced gig than I thought. I also have some kind of conversion program I downloaded, don't remember the name because I haven't installed it yet.

I use a .3 megapixel (let me emphasize: POINT 3) camera that's also an MP3 player. I used to have a VHS-C camcorder type dealy, but it broke and I haven't fixed it yet... it wasn't that great, anyway. I'm mainly into stop-motion type stuff, so I just take hundreds of photos with the .3'er and mix 'em together with Adobe Premiere, which I like... a lot.

Computer: G4 Dual 1Ghz w/ 1.2G RAM, 80G internal drive, and 160G RAID-0 (ATA)

Video camera: Sony... something. It's also a 1.2 megapixel still camera. For Mini-DV it's just a one-chipper, but it has nightshot mode (I like the look of nightshot video when converted to black and white - reminds me of gritty black and white film).

I don't believe I've ever seen that done before. Interesting...

I have some non-UE stuff online.
Uhh... fair warning: they are not only "not very good." They downright suck. I was drunk off my ass when I shot them.

i totally have the worst setup for video ever, an HP photosmart 320 digital still camera. It has a 30 second video record function, low-res with no audio. I do all the editing, dubbing etc. on my Powerbook G4. 1.3ghz, 512DDR, etc. Standard specs for the 15". And that's it. I'm gonna be borrowing cameras for the next little while because I'm writing a script for a fairly substantial short film and I want it to look half decent if not ALL decent. My mom has a Panasonic 3CCD miniDV cam, the picture is fuckin awesome, I'll probably be using that as much as she'll let me.

The only "films" I've ever made were some vids I took with my ex. Not sharing them.
Taken with a Fuji A205 with 320 res., no sound.
My new camera takes TV quality with sound which would be fun and I never thought about using.

These wouldn't happen to be anything like the picture you posted of your ex a while back on the self-portrait thread, would they?

Ok, If I've got a Sony PAL dv cam, I can get the video into my computer fine (I'm assuming) - but is there some way to uh, shift the framerate and shit so I can output it NTSC? - With FCP 3 or 4 probably. ?

I assume you've tried simply importing it into FCP and then using the "print to tape" option with an NTSC dv camera by now, but if you haven't it's worth a shot!

I shoot super 8 and 16mm film but I have an old Kyrocera 8mm video camcorder. I took a bunch of footage in an abandoned mine, lost the eyepiece and miraculoulsy found it again hours later. Before I took it into the mine it was mint. Now... not so much.

I usually edit with a splicer, but I really dig using Adobe Premiere to cut when I get stuff transfered to digital. Though I don't know the program well yet.

My cam is a Canon GL2, although on rare occasions i have shot video with my still cam a Canon Pro1 (it actually does pretty well)

editing is done on my laptop
p4 3ghz 1 gig of ram 60 gig hd, really need an external drive of at least 100 gigs i ralized this when i shot direct into the laptop at a conceert because i wanst sure if i'd be able to find a good spot for a tape change.

my stuff either gets published to my web site (its all hidden cause it kills my connection when peoople pull video from my server) or goes right to VCD
