This is another video where the location is so well known, that I mentioned it by name. But this place wss featured on the freaking History Channel, and everyone in the world knows what it is, and where it is. The locals use it like its a public park. However, if this is deemed to violate UER rules, please deleted the thread.

History channel show that featured this place (Life After People): https://www.youtub...h?v=xof4xT8IuSo&t=

And in addition, the city of Gary issues "Urbex Permits" to explore this place, and every Youtube video on the internet mentions this place by name. That is why I believe its acceptable to name this place. If not, please delete the thread.

Where do one must apply for an "urbex permit"?

Also, do they deliver "urban explorer" ID cards?

Its a real thing. Look it up. I didn't purchase one. The urbex permit allows you to explore the church, a concert hall, and I think a post office. Its $50.

gary methodist is definitely not the largest abandoned church in the world lol, it also usually doesn’t matter when you name a place or not because one way or another you reveal it in the video.

Wow, 50$ for a "permit", thanks but no thanks. Capitalism appropriating a sub-culture usually leads to these kind of things.

URBEX IS DED.

You make the perfect tourist...
Pretty much at this point you are beyond redemption here.

Those vids and your follow up post comments are stuck to you like concrete shoes now.

Give abandonment a reason for its sacrificial reclamation to nature. Love it. Remember it. Take a picture. Share it. Leave the decay to nature.

I'm taking a break from writing my thesis to write this message instead so I hope it actually reaches you. I'll start with the positives because I believe that you've gotten enough negative feedback from this particular forum.

So, some of the shots are cool. For someone that's going for the personality oriented approach, the camera placement/static shots are also fine. Also refreshing to see a video like this without the overly dramatized shenanigans.

I especially liked the history bits you added with the before/after effect. You could've incorporated more drone footage with old pictures from the outside, too!

Then for the things that I believe you could improve on.

First off, the narration in the beginning is going to turn away people who were actually curious enough to click on the video here. It comes off a little silly and I'm not sure if that's what you were going for.

Then there's the editing. No complaints on the visual side other than for the giant "Like and Subscribe" banners accompanied with loud sound effects, but I guess that's the YouTube norm nowadays. I think people would prefer a more subtle "reminder" if it's necessary to include one.

As for audio, I suggest you get a small microphone on your body for a clearer voice. The jump from you speaking to a cut of silence with only the background music playing is really noticeable. Getting a microphone will also help you balance the audio by boosting your voice without the external anomalies in the sound (wind and such).

TL;DR (not really) and the most important thing to take from all this: You're working against yourself by using this site but uploading the same content here as YouTube. It's a nice location, take some pictures and post them here. I see you made a photo only post here (the church one) and so far it hasn't gotten any negative feedback. Just my two cents.
