Now, I wonder about these door bell cams and Wifi camera net works Im sure some enterprising high school kid OR the police can hack into those. I don't really know.

They don’t have to hack into them. The police have asked people to voluntarily provide them with their footage, “in order to make our neighborhoods safer.’ Here in the suburbs, people will happily line up to do so.

The police department in my town recently started a “registry,” where people can register their cameras with them in case their footage might be needed to help solve a crime anytime in the future.

Amazon’s “Ring,” and the “Neighbors,” app have worked especially hard at assisting police in this endeavor:
https://support.ri...om-Law-Enforcement

What people don’t consider is that Law Enforcement can indefinitely use that footage whenever and however they want once it’s given to them. Furthermore, residents’ cameras are often recording public spaces within the camera’s field of view, which opens up some serious fourth amendment issues that I doubt most people have even thought about.

Yes well, theyre trampling on our 2nd Amendment, 1st Amendment, why wouldn't they abuse the 4th Amendment as well.

I think most honest people and those that don't have nothin to hide overlook what you just pointed out. Im not a lawyer but regularly drink beer with some and we have had some interesting and at times, heated discussions over right to privacy, unlawful use of images, but we all agree and they have case precedent they can quote that there is no expectation of privacy on public property or common spaces of private property i.e. apartment complex courtyards etc. As long as you are not a minor just about anyone can post images and videos of just about anyone else.

Now if they are deriving monetary benefit from your cute face then we move into a whole nuther chapter of legality.

Then theres this: My hillbilly neighbors are trying to use a game camera to prove Im driving on my own easement. I guess they plan to sue me over that somehow LOL

I'm a 21st century man and I don't want to be one...
The Kinks saw this shit coming half a century ago.

Soon cheap mass produced solar power wi-fi enabled cams smaller than a dime will be flooding the market. Simply peel off the protective adhesive cover and stick them anywhere you wish. They store power during cycles of light and are ultra efficient consuming microamp/hrs of power meaning they can operate inside structures as well as outside completely wirelessly.

It gets worse, much worse...
Signal piggybacking will make extended networks possible and burst transmission mode will made detection difficult.
Some of the lesser known and expensive technologies the CIA spooks used for decades will become commonplace and cheap.
Small flash memory chips mean GBs of memory can be cheaply implemented on these cams. Mini Smartcam stealth networks become possible.
Are you scared?
You should be...

April 1992, some people I know, stole a 30' tall inflatable chicken off the roof of a McDonald's. Right away, it was on the news and that this inflatable monstrosity was worth $20,000. In the news report, it was mentioned that McDonald's said they wouldn't prosecute if the chicken was returned unharmed. The guy who spearheaded this operation dumped the chicken in the back lot of community college and called the police tip line (from his home phone) to let them know where they could find the chicken. The whole thing was dismissed as a "college prank" and that was it.

About a month later, an giant, inflatable pink elephant was stolen from a toy store in the same general area. This time the owners of the stolen inflatable were out for blood. Mr Ringleader of the chicken exploit found himself getting phone calls at home from the police about the missing elephant in addition to being tailed by detectives who would also show up at his house almost daily. He had nothing to do with the elephant, but the cops don't know that.

haha, thanks for sharing this and the pic. Kinda reminds me of this time in college when I saw a dude walk into a Wendy's, unplug the neon sign in the front window, and casually walk out with it..

He was chased down by the cashier and got his ass kicked so I guess that's where the similarities end..

You can still weave some political commentary or angst into regular boards as long as you don't engage in politics to the mods disapproval.

Hell we got a former banned user calling me and blackhawk faggots on a board created by a gay guy and that's allowed to stand go figure.
