Ill be moving there when fall starts up again, and I wanted to know if there is any good locations at all down there. Closest place to it that I can think of is Shreveport, has anyone been out there?

Plenty to see in Marshall and around do you even actually explore?

Try exploring. Its not like its a big town or something, you can drive across it in about 5 minutes.

I wouldnt hold my breath waiting for handouts to locations though.

Is it just me or have there been a ton of these posts in the few days. It's odd how they all make their move at the same time.

true

what is odd is how people that claim to be explorers cant find anything to explore unless somebody tells them

What, you want me to spill my personal life to you on why Im not able to go to Marshall right now? Geez, sue me. Just asking for recommendations. And I never claimed myself to be a explorer, frankly, the title doesn't mean squat to me. But in any case.. I think I'll stop here before this thread gets as childish as the other threads arguments happen in.

I give a lot less than two shits about your personal life. Nobody asked.

Its funny people post lame threads asking for locations then get all indignant when somebody points out theyre missing the point.

Wow you figured it out. That's exactly why I didn't tell you about my damn personal life. Man, Im starting to find it silly that I looked up to you as a explorer, but all I see you post in recently is bashing someone else. Im still new to the community and being hush hush about places, so I apologise.

I've been there. You need to get there out and scout.

We like pics...
Best to establish yourself here before asking and even then best to use PMs about a specific site you wish to explore.
I did that with Beth Steel and a long time FM gave me crucial details about security that made my trips there successful. Especially helpful for my first trip there.

Broadcast begging and trying to pick our brains generally goes south to hell here.
You been here long enough that you should know that.
The hard part of exploring good sites is finding them. Do your leg work.
I have never and would never post a thread like this.

If this sounds tough, a pissed off cajun is a lot worse... learn, adapt.

Yeah, I guess I was just really excited to get out and explore when I first made, that I couldn't wait and want to know what's there. I haven't been able to explore in a while, and still cant for a few months. I apologized if I caused a big ruckus, and I do apologise to 2X too. If anything, the thread could also be to ask how tight security is in a broad, overview of the place.

I appreciate the advice.

There are still plantation era estates down there.
I was collecting meter/pole data and was able to get inside one that had been taken over by a corporation. Incredible.
Security will vary from site to site as well as time frame. Always best to scout it yourself because what was wide open yesterday may be locked down today or vice versa.
There are also some really cool military museums in LA that are worth seeing. Think WW2...

One of the museums is for the Higgins PT boats.
Also an warbird one that has some cool relics.
Might be a battleship as well, been a while.
Never got a chance to chase those down.
Houston has a battleship open for tours, WW1 era I think.
War museums are interesting... and you might spot some sploring sites along the way.
