Long time lurker, nth time poster. I hope we've enjoyed the weather here in the US. We on the East Coast have only had it rain twice all winter - once for 45 days, then again for 30. After last year's drain fatality of a sister forum member in a Philadelphia drain, floods have been on our mind. And if there's one good thing about ugly weather, it's that you kind of have to sharpen your tools. For six months I searched for my city's GIS database of stormwater structures. Suddenly, eight years later, there it is. When the weather clears, I know where I'll go... A stone culvert, taller than me? Count me in, even if it's only allegedly there. https://m.imgur.com/gallery/u6qbia7 Since I last posted, Imgur made mobile links a *** and Flickr did the same, so you get a url link. Sorry.

Oh, this rain!! I had to laugh hearing you say 'it's only rained twice...' I heard someone at work say that very thing today...my first time hearing it. Seems like it's rained so much here (North Carolina) that even the one guy who always says, 'well, we sure do need it!" no matter how much it rains, has decided to shut it for once. Sorry to comment solely on the secondary point of your post, but that made me smile (like seeing the sky turn a strange blue color and that yellow ball of light appear up there for a few hours today). Good luck to you, glad you found a place to explore; hope it works out and that mother nature cooperates...soon...for all of us. Sad to hear about the loss of a fellow urbexer and forum member. May she rest in peace. 😔

I couldn't view it...
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. | |
Long time no see! Excited to see more drain adventures

I always smile when I see or hear When it rains, no drains. I've probably mentioned this on UER before, but my first drain exploring buddy that I met through exploring was called Cobra. The guy loved drains and made me laugh. One day he came around to my place as we'd planned to do a new drain. As we were getting ready it started raining. I said we should go anyway and he said, "Ay ayyy Dougo, when it rains... no drains!" Later that day after it cleared up went out to do the drain we had planned to do earlier. I used to record all the dates we first explored each drain. That was on March 5, 1989... 30 years to the day! Happy 30th anniversary WHEN IT RAINS, NO DRAINS!
