fuuuuuccckkk! this was in Plainfield? and I missed it? I guess it's my fault for falling out of the exploring game the past few years and not seeing it. Next time you do something local, reach out!

I'm honestly surprised it wasn't on your radar! I wish we had a chance to make it happen. Most of our visits were in the middle of the night during the week. I'm about to get crazy busy with work through December but we will definitely have to make a trip out in 2020.

Damn this place looks amazing. The backstory is the kind of thing that ends up in adventure books. I am kinda confused though. You say the place is "gone" but I am unsure whether you mean the place is being a) demolished b) locked tight with security or c) being actively renovated. Which one is it?

It's being partially converted into a new medical arts center. Some buildings are still standing but some of the most significant ones have been completely demolished. What's left standing is stripped down to bare walls.

After all that, they may reopen the remaining bits of the hospital as emergency overflow due to the pandemic we are currently experiencing. https://www.nj.com...irus-pandemic.html

I am insanely jealous. Not that I am some type of authority on UE, but to me, this is the white whale. What it’s all about!
Best Regards |

What a great set and even better story. RIP this hospital. Having your own personal playground is one of the best feelings.

It was absolutely a white whale, and I haven't experienced anything like it since. We went back inside after the state decided not to use the building for covid patients and it was sad to see it standing as just a shell.

It was incredible! We will have to tell you some stories that I didn't include in person when we get together tomorrow.
