I've heard about an incredibly old hotel somewhere in the coalfields of WV. Don't want to give away too many details, but I was wondering about the security/condition of the location given its peculiar and populous location (or at least populous for southern WV). Those who know what I'm talking about any info?

Okay so I went, and it was arguably one of the dumbest thing's I've done in a long time. It was broad daylight, 300 yards from a police station, and the only point of entry was as visible as the broad side of a barn from a major road in the area. It took a lot of patience and timing, and damn was it worth it. I muffed up a few times though. I forgot my camera and borrowed my mom's but forgot to set it into RAW. I didn't even bother with post because I can't do a lot of the exposure corrections I wanted to. I gathered some info on the building before and after going in. It housed some real top shots like JFK and Babe Ruth. Built once in the early 1900's then burnt down. Rebuilt shortly after and operated up through the early 2000's when a flood knocked out about half the building. It was absolutely full of vintage furniture and amazing history. Many of the rooms had clawfoot tubs and glass doorknobs. I have no idea how some drumhead hasn't went in to loot the place. I have more info, but I hesitate to keep giving hints about this place. It's got a lot of potential value left in the building and I don't want to see it vandalized or stolen from. 1.

My suggestion: entering is not a great idea. The flood knocked out most of the back half of the building. You have to scale a 8 foot wall to get in, and the place needs a mask. Very close to the police headquarters and very visible. The building has a lot of windows and the entry point is visible from the Main Street of the town. Risk is high and the photography opportunities are amazing, but I'm not sure it's worth getting arrested. I know the cops in the area and they'll do anything to ruin your day. But if you really feel like you're experienced and want somewhere interesting to go, this place can easily give you your fill.

Cool shots! I've been disregarding this place for a while thinking it wasn't quite worth it, but this post has changed my mind.

Hate to break it to you chief, but that's a three hour trip and you've listed your age as 13. Not really sure how you plan on pulling it off, but if you really know which place this is then message me and I'll give you some more info on getting in.
