yeah but rule #4 goes out the window when you classify "awesome cassette deck in the shape of a sports car" as being "awesome" this is a herman miller chair man, c'mon.

I don't see how something being "awesome" creates a loophole in the wording of the rule. I thought it was awesome so I took a picture and left it behind.

I once took a jar of mercury from an abandoned building that would soon be demolished and took it to a hazardous waste disposal facility on my own. Some time later, after a brief period of open doors and extensive vandalism, they knocked the place down it with an excavator. Let's take care of the environment

The demo contractor would have taken it to a precious metal recycler for big bucks... mercury is valuable
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

You are pretty positive, let's not just assume and actually do something, like he did! Lots of time they don't care about small stuf laying aroung and they put the shovel right in it. And like he said, the vandal could have most likely throw it on the ground for fun.

It comes from cinnabar mines that bats live in now quit nicely. In fill it's not a huge hazard. More has been spilled or burnt off in det caps and primers than you like to imagine... Probably best. Some people would keep it. It's harmless when contained in a bottle... just don't spill it. Very hard to clean up if spilled on porous surfaces. Been there, done that. Swallow some as a kid biting down on a thermometer; harmless as such, only the vapors are a hazard. It boils are 674 F. When my dad was a kid it was common for kids to play with it. Interesting stuff.
