Pump Station

This one was pretty cool. It's an abandoned pump station beside the river in the north east part of Edmonton.

It has most parts still intact despite the heavy damage from others finding it.

There's a lower section we couldn't get to due to high water levels but have heard that i the summer its accessible.1.

Oof, I heard from my buddy who heard from some junkie that it empties out in the summer. We were both pretty skeptical of it but I was really hoping he was telling the truth.

Ever since I've been going there, the lower levels have been totally flooded out. Good find though. Any idea what it's for?

My only assumption would be to control the flow of water into the river from outfalls. They're scattered along the river apparently although I have only ever found 1 more and it was entirely inaccessible.

It's not related to storm drains, I'll tell ya that much. You've only found the tip of the iceberg comrade.

It was for the old (redacted) plant, they had water diversion rights to pump water from the North Sask. Hence why there is also a very small water treatment facility just up the river bank.

I know this place isn't exactly a fresh or unknown site, but c'mon man.

A ) It's still new to a few newcomers here, let them find out for themselves what it is.

B ) Public thread. Name dropping is pretty poor site preservation etiquette.

Would you mind editing the name out of your last post?

Good call. I figured it wasn't a big deal as its location is easily available to find with the OP giving a massive hint and Google Earth, but agreed. I redacted it.

Just thought I'd add my own images here rather than make a new thread as I recently went myself. It's quite...filthy.

Cheers
